Middle Aged Writer Looking for Readers!

What do women like to read? Romance and chic-lit are quite popular, but there are other genres we like too. My particular favourite is the paranormal, although this is not strictly a genre on its own.
Paranormal or Supernatural themed books are usually listed under the genres of Fantasy or Science Fiction. This subject does not sit well under these genres. Not enough fantasy or not enough science for either. Sometimes the subject will be listed as a sub-genre of either of these two main genres.
Paranormal is becoming a popular theme, nowadays. And I'm not talking about vampires or werewolves! Topics such as, out of body experience, (OBE) near death experience, (NDE) clairvoyance, (contact with spirit) are just a few themes that fall under the heading of Paranormal.

My own book, Crystal Child, is a paranormal thriller/drama. I wanted to write about this topic, but set it in a more normal environment. I'm sure most people have seen the movie 'Paranormal', but this only depicts one aspect of its title. The subject should be categorised as poltergeist activity.
Another film you may know of is 'The Sixth Sense', again some poltergeist activity, but it also has a clairvoyant child. Crystal Child also has a clairvoyant girl, but the difference is, the child has no fear of the world she lives in. It is the adults around her who are afraid, making problems for the child.

It has been said, we are all born with this ability but lose it by the time we become adult.
I'll leave you with this thought; the next time you see a small child talking to him/her self, watch how they interact with their imaginary friend. Then ask yourself, is it really imaginary!!
