A slow start to this Thursday is foretold in the skies today. Significant decisions are better dealt with during the morning, although it may-be a slow process or even stressful. Delays and breakdowns are in the pipeline, so check everything twice before you set off. Deal with problems sensibly to ease any burdens, but don’t over-do it by playing a martyr!

By mid-day things should ease and a more sociable period will begin. Maybe even a little more self-indulgence during lunch will be on the menu, but be warned, many will be feeling over emotional during lunch and dramas could erupt. People are inclined to be more sensitive from here on, with this mood continuing well into the night.

Communication maybe stilted later in the afternoon and early part of the evening. Not the best day to try anything new. Stick to the tried and tested. Watch out for health issues around now.

This evening will be time for counting your blessings, money and possessions. Many will be wanting a little more luxury in life.

Altogether, this day will be a mixed bag. In the morning there’s more love in the air, but it will also be a slow time. Along with the arrival of the afternoon, friction could well arrive and love will fly away just as quickly. But don’t give into arguments with others, no matter how bad they seem, as this afternoon and evening are not good for those in opposition to each other.

Professional and personal goals fall into place to-day. By being open handed, you’ll feel a burden lifted from your shoulders. It’s also a day of achievement. Great satisfaction can be drawn from social activities and friendships.

There’s a strong impulsive energy around, urging many to take action. A sort of emotional excitement abounds. Also a day for team efforts in relationships of all kinds and there could be far reaching plans.

This is not a day to be lazy, or at least don’t get caught! This is because many will feel the effect of the moon’s entry into the sign of Pisces. A dreamy emotional state can be a problem with this sign’s arrival.

Today will be one for legalities, politics and education. It’s also a day of spiritual ideals and psychic visions. Self-motivation and energetic co-operation is the way to tackle this day. Practical, diplomatic and affable people do well today.

In the afternoon there could be a lull in energy. Those with a capacity for sustained work thrive. As the afternoon progresses a more gentle and sensitive period arrives.

In the evening confidence rises along with impulsiveness and even pride! A more relaxed, cheerful mood takes over. But, try not to over-do it this evening, for there is a tendency to want to party!

All in all, this Wednesday is not a really bad day. In fact it could be one of the better  days of the month, so long as you refrain from day-dreaming in the afternoon or partying in the evening!

Astrology; an overview

Welcoming in the new year I thought I'd throw into the arena of paranormal research a little about the field of Astrology.
Astrology is part science and part intuition. The science bit comes from the knowledge of our solar system. Astronomy is closely related to Astrological prediction, although it is unrecognised by the Astronomical society. This is mainly because there is as yet no scientific proof on how it works.
But work it does as many Astrologers will testify.
Astrology is as old as time itself maybe! Although it has been modernised for our present day lives.
Many believe this was how the ancients knew of the coming of Jesus, by following an astrological star!
Astrology is used to predict the future using graphs and charts to plot the course of the planets in our solar system. A natal chart is a personality and future life prognosis, that is calculated by the planetary lay-out of the sky on the day of birth. A sky that is ever changing minute by minute so that even twins can have a different chart to each other. Everyone is different and unique, yet no-one knows why Astrology works, just that it does.
The horoscopes you read in newspapers and magazines are mere titbit's of the information there is available on this popular method of prediction. Only one planet is used in this type of publication and that is the Sun. That's why they are a bit of hit and miss in their accuracy as they're constructed to give a general reading. After all how can you possibly calculate for billions of people in a general way! But the Sun is the easiest planet to use as it changes regularly each month.
The Sun sign is the one most known. Most people know if they are a Libra or Pisces or any other of the twelve star signs. But the Sun is only one of the ten planets that go to make up your individual horoscope.
Each planet has an different influence upon the life of an individual and each individual has all ten planets in some placement in their natal or birth chart. The Sun being the planet of the ego, which is also the true you, is important but so is the Moon which governs the emotional you. It is worth finding out what sign your Moon is in. There are many books on the subject that will calculate where your Moon sign was on your date of birth. Knowing this sign can give you an insight into why you feel as you do.
Venus is also important as it governs the love life. Knowing this sign can help in the choice of partner.
If you're looking for career information then Saturn is the planet to research.
There is much more to Astrology though than the few planets I've mentioned. A whole host of data is collected to create a personality chart and that's only the beginning as the true talent in Astrology is in the interpretation. A very intricate analysis needs to be formulated out of the information gathered. And that is an extremely delicate operation!
One last word on the subject; Chinese horoscopes have a completely different set of rules although you'll find similarities on the final analysis of the personality of the individual. Chinese signs are given animal charateristics. Each new year is given its own sign and this is the year of the dragon. A forceful character denoting courage, independence and strength. Something we may all need in this unstable year where great change is forewarned.

Metaphysical Science

What does this term mean? Meta is the Latin word for beyond, so metaphysical simply means beyond the physical. Metaphysical science is the search for evidence of the paranormal realm.
In metaphysics there is a strong belief in the natural laws of the universe and once these laws are understood the lives of all will change.
It has been viewed by many as a fringe science. Yet philosophers and spiritual teachers throughout history have spoken of these natural laws. The Bible, Hindu and Buddhist scripture have all recognised these spiritual laws likened to a divine intelligence. Metaphysical science can be called the study of spiritual law.
Everything is energy. So says Albert Einstein. And we as human beings are part of that energy. As metaphysical science becomes more sophisticated we are discovering that these universal laws do exist.
Universal mind or one cosmic consciousness, which is another way of describing divine intelligence, could be likened to one giant computer servicing all the smaller ones that are our individual minds. This sphere of metaphysical science is the study of the spiritual laws.
There are many theories on spiritual science, one of which is the belief we are all spirits living out an experience through the mind. We also create this existence through the power of thought. Even though some of our experiences can seen bad, spiritual law says we still created them.
One example, if most people in the entire world are thinking aggressively then this can create a war. Collectively over millenniums we have created our world.
This one mind is in effect the God we have been connecting to through religious beliefs. But we are still learning and as we progress we can learn to utilize this power of thought to make our lives on earth more rewarding and peaceful.
There are also our individual lives to consider and although it's hard to believe, metaphysics says we also created them. Our reality is governed by our thoughts although we are mostly unaware of these. It’s hard to believe that we would create bad experiences. But it isn’t that easy to control your thoughts. Most of us are thinking more about what we don’t want rather than what we do. And in thinking about what we don’t want we are attracting the bad stuff too.
This brings us to one law that has had quite a lot of publicity. That is the law of attraction. Whole books have been written on just this one law, so all I’ll say on the subject is you attract what you are thinking of the most. Reminds me of a biblical quote, ‘You reap what you sow.’
As soon as a new law is discovered, like the law of gravity for example, experiments are made with it. Certain facts are collected. Experiments are done for proof and when it is proven a new law becomes scientific fact. This is what metaphysics does. It merges science, philosophy and spirit to study the paranormal.
Enlightenment has long been a path many have followed urged on by spiritual teachers of the past. Using metaphysical law to travel this path means using the approach of being more aware of ourselves and our surroundings. To be conscious is what we need. The definition of conscious is to be aware of our existence, sensations and thoughts.
What separates us in the one mind is sub-consciousness. This means being unaware of our own existence. Our minds are full of irrelevant things that blind us to what is truth. We need to step inside ourselves to seek that awakening to become aware. To become aware is to live consciously.
We are what we think. We are what we believe. This is what metaphysics teaches. If enough of us believe in this truth then we can change our individual lives, our one collective mind and so change our world into the best it can be.

2012 Is it the end of the world?

Most people have heard of the 2012 phenomena. The prophet's of doom have been plugging it for years.
The supposedly 'End of the world' date is December 21st 2012. The movie of the date was based upon this prediction.
Well the year is almost here so what does this mean for humanity and our planet?
I've been doing some research and unearthed quite a bit of interesting information.
How did this scenario come about?
It didn't come from one source but instead was generated by those who've connected a series of events due to happen in this year.
The main ones are; 'The Mayan Prophecy,' Astrological and Galactic Alignments and even the use of Numerology.
Let's take the Mayan Prophecy first. The Maya were noted as the earliest known civilisation that had a fully developed written language. They also had mathematical and astronomical systems. The Mayans are said to have reached their highest state of development during the period 250 BC to 900 AD.
They had their own unique calender system, very different to our own today. This calender system was recorded to include future times, a long way into the future! Our 2012 is when their calender ends.
So that's one of the reasons for the prediction. But scholars of the Mayan culture have dismissed the claim. They say the Mayan calender was based on their culture at the time, religious and mythological traditions. And there's only one part of it that ends! It's such a complex system compared to ours today. The last piece to damn the prediction clicks in when you realise the calender had a mythical starting date of the beginning of the world! Wonder how they knew that?
Galactic Alignment is another myth in the doomsday prophecy.
What is this all about? An alignment is when several planets line up connecting to each other in astrology. How this myth came into being is because of the Sun's backward movement. It moves back one degree every 72 years. This backward movement has been likened to a spinning top when it wobbles as it slows down and the 'End of the world' brigade use this as proof of a catastrophic event happening to the planet. But astrologers and astronomers refute this prediction.
Astronomers say if there was anything big enough in our universe to do such damage, we'd already have seen it coming long ago!
Astrologers say alignments come and go all the time. They say what is happening is the heralding of a new age. The world is moving from the sign of Pisces to the sign of Aquarius and a lot slower than in one day. A change in the structure of societies all over the world is what they're predicting.
Numerology has even been used by some cultures in the creation of this myth.
The funny thing about all this predicting is the one by Nostradamus. His prophecies end in the year 3797. The next 'End of the world' maybe! Or someones got their dates wrong.
Scientists are a bit more optimistic. They have predicted the sun will grow too hot for life to exist on earth, in a billion years!
A lot of people have made money from perpetuating this rumour. So, sorry to burst your bubble guys the world is gonna be with us for a long time yet.

 

Paranormal Haunts

Fancy a little trip or a long one! Haunt Jaunts is a tour guide website of paranormal locations. Defined by its owners as 'A Travel Blog for Restless Spirits,' it deals with paranormal tourism.
Haunt Jaunts lists international tourist spots from all over the globe country by country. Includes USA, UK and Europe.
What caught my attention most, besides the country lists, were the descriptions of some of the tour attractions. Places to visit included a tour named 'Apparition Attraction' and another named 'Eerie Eateries and Pubs.' There are others such as these two, like 'Poltergeist Parks' and 'Spooky Stays.'
One such trip, 'Paranormal Cruise' had me imagining people throwing themselves overboard in order to get away from some ghostly apparition! I mean, like where can you hide on a ship in the middle of the ocean. But I was alleviated of such thoughts when I found out it wasn't the ship that was haunted. The cruise takes you to various haunted locations instead. So you can relax while on board. One of the stops on the cruise is a visit to the Mayan Ruins.
The website has a large connection to other paranormal websites and regular interviews with guest bloggers who are also paranormal enthusiasts.
Haunt Jaunts members relay their spooky trips on return home complete with videos and descriptions of what they've found. One of the members videos I watched was of a woman on a trip to Istanbul, whereby she had video taped her trip to the Basilica Cistern. It is claimed one of the columns there has the image of Medusa (mythological woman with head made of snakes) imprinted on it. And also another stone made carving of her face, which has been turned up-side-down in order to deflect her evil power! And yes, you can see the image very clearly.
Haunt Jaunts is definitely worth a visit, or maybe a tour or two. Let me know if any of you get back home safely from your Haunt Jaunt!         

Paranormal Forum

Paranormalis is more or less like the usual forum with members, discussions and a member's chat room.
There the distinction ends! All post are of a paranormal theme. The number of themes are quite extensive.
Divided into sections, the main ones are on subjects of, Ghosts and Spirits, Time Travel, Aliens and Aliens on Earth! Outsiders can click on any of these sections and a selection of Google locations giving more information will be loaded. For everything else you have to join, which is free.
Upon joining the site you have a choice of venues to visit, like Announcements, Community Events, Discussions and Individual member discussions. There is also a community chat room, general introductions section and a community feedback listing.
Paranomalis has 2,564 members, 2,933 individual discussions and 47,359 messages!
I scrolled down the message boards to get a feel for the general content, which is huge.
The usual paranormal themes are there such as, Spirituality and Religion, yes they can go together! Also Psychic Abilities, Mysticism and the Occult and Metaphysics. But I was surprised to find a discussion board on Science and Technology. I'm not sure how that fits into the paranormal theme, but then maybe it's about new technological advances in seeking and contacting the spirit world! Have to join to find that out. Thinking about it though.
Another unusual find was a discussion board on, wait for it, Conspiracy and Government Cover-Ups!
Well I'd love to check that one out as long as no one is listening or reading, you know from the, shush it's top secret, higher up officialdom of the eh government. Do you think they bother to read forum posts from the masses of theorists? Probably do.
I did have a bit of a giggle when I clicked the 'Aliens' tab and among the list of titles was, 'A letter from Santa?' I don't really think of Santa as an alien, after all he does come from the North Pole!
